In todays world we all seem to be busy with our own selves. Our profession, our family, our assests. But some of us, at times, do think, where are we heading towards... probably for few minutes and then we are back to our own circle.
Nothing will change unless you decide to. It all starts from the very individual. Dont blame any one. In one way or the other, you have been part of it.

A TOUCH OF GREATNESS



We always tend to have a negative impression on the Government school teachers. We feel they don’t give enough care for the students, they don’t develop their skills and help them shine. But the fact is, either they are not motivated properly or we have not explored enough to come to such conclusions. Well, here is a live example to prove our notion wrong.

"Balu Sir, an example teacher, an educational innovator, a revered classroom instructor, a devoted mentor and the Headmaster of the Akkaraipettai elementary school...

Akkarpettai, was one of the worst affected villages by Tsunami. Inspite of the odds, losing 53 students, having another 100 semi orphan children, he was determined to fight back and get the school going. He contacted people and established the basic infrastructure at school. He encouraged counsellors to come and conduct psycological sessions for the children and teachers. His biggest challenge was to get students back to school at the earliest and slowly remove the fear out of them.

Balu Sir, had the priceless opportunity of giving each child the gift of believing in him or herself for the past 20 long years !.

He ignites the imagination of countless young students, through his concept of “Maanavar Mandram”. He identifies leaders from the class every month and name them with esteemed roles such as *Education Minister*, *Defense Minister* etc. Revered Mr.Balu says, that this concept teaches a student to boldly stand responsible and aim greater heights. Every month, students meet and have a forum asking explanation from ministers. The students get motivated in such an environment and find ultimate fun in school life. They are of course proud of their roles and their dear teacher too...

Illakiya Mandram is yet another pinnacle of his achievements and an example of his devotion. Through illakiya mandram, Balu teacher inspire the generations of beginning students with the breadth and beauty of literature and the thrill of fresh insights. As much as six competitions are conducted for the students every year. He takes that extra bit of effort, goes further and seeks public support for prizes, library set up and other infrastructure. .


When requested for a message for the youngsters, he said, “Dream, follow and make Dr.Kalam’s 2020 vision true”.

Sure, there are scores of such teachers in our country, who prove our myth wrong and INSPIRE students to proceed in the right direction.
