H e himself is an example of successful rehabilitation, as he was affected by leprosy and got cured completely and now is a recognized social worker committed for the development of the poorer and downtrodden sections. Today, he is one of the key persons planning and executing different types of support for the welfare of leprosy affected, handicapped men and women. Inspite of the financial struggle Gunasekaran today still continues to help people. |
Mr.A Gunasekaran
, of CDC has received National Award twice (from Shri. R. Venkatraman, the President of India in the year of 1990 and Shri. Krishnakanth, the Vice-president of India in the year 2001) and he also received the best Social worker award from Padma Shri. Kamalhassan on 07-11-2002 for his exemplary services to the handicapped particularly to the leprosy affected families.![]() |
Their aim is to focus full attention towards the health check up and Socio-economic rehabilitation for leprosy affected persons, disabled, poor destitute women & their children and down trodden people by providing basic medical care, counseling, training trades and skills, small loans for self-employment / Educational & Employment opportunities for their children
